ST LOUIS AREA TRAINING & SEMINARS
What is Mental Health First Aid?
MHFA is a program teaching people to recognize signs of mental health/substance use challenges, how to offer initial support and connect individuals to professional help. It is much like CPR is for physical health. Using a 5-step action plan (ALGEE) to help someone in non-crisis situations. It covers risk factors, warning signs, care, and educating the public how to be the first line of support at home, work, and communities. Most trainings are offered at no charge.
